Doug Simpson

Why or how did you become a dog trainer?

I have always had a passion for animals and our connection came very naturally. My special love for horses brought me to Natural Horsemanship. When I realized the common ground that exists between us all, I was inspired to learn more. It was exciting to see how I could create actions through a relationship built on: love, trust and respect, not food or fear, and I made it my goal to share that information with the dog world.  I help people create the most harmonious relationship possible with their dogs that lasts a lifetime.

What makes Doug a gifted trainer?

Understanding animals is instinctive to Doug – he has a certain magic with them. The beauty is that he can share that magic with people and teach them how to do it too. What a great gift to us all.”  ~ Elizabeth

What are you passionate about in life outside dogs?

I have always been an avid outdoorsman, and am passionate about animal photography. I lose myself in watching wild animal behaviors and their interactions, which became part of the foundation for Tenderfoot, because all animals understand each other.
